What Is TriLyte?

If you are scheduled to have a colonoscopy, your healthcare provider may instruct you to take a laxative called TriLyte® (polyethylene glycol electrolyte solution) beforehand.

What is this product used for? TriLyte helps empty the bowels in preparation for the colonoscopy. It works by drawing large amounts of water into the colon. This softens the stool and causes watery bowel movements -- these actions aid in emptying the colon completely, allowing your doctor to see your colon more clearly. TriLyte comes in the form of a powder and is mixed with water before being consumed.

(Click TriLyte for more information on what this drug is used for, including potential side effects, why it may not be suitable for certain people, and more.)
