Do You Have to Use the Flavor Packet With TriLyte?

TriLyte® (polyethylene glycol electrolyte solution) is a drug used to empty the bowel before a colonoscopy procedure. It is available by prescription only and is consumed in eight-ounce portions every 10 minutes until either four liters are consumed or bowel movements are watery and clear (which usually requires at least three liters). TriLyte comes in the form of a powder that is dissolved in water; it also comes with several flavor packets that can be added to improve the taste.
Do you have to use the flavor packets that come with TriLyte? No -- the flavor packets are optional. If you do use a flavor packet, use only one and add it to the powder before adding water. Do not add any other flavoring, other liquids, or other ingredients to TriLyte.
