How Should Triamterene-HCTZ Be Stored?

Triamterene-HCTZ should be stored at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Both the tablets and capsules should be kept in an airtight container.
 
Keep triamterene-HCTZ and all other medications out of the reach of children.
 

What Should I Do If I Miss a Dose of Triamterene-HCTZ?

If you do not take your triamterene-HCTZ as scheduled, take your missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed one and continue with normal dosing. Do not take a double dose.
 

Strengths of Triamterene-HCTZ

Triamterene-HCTZ tablets are available in the following strengths:
 
  • Triamterene-HCTZ 50/75 mg -- containing 50 mg of hydrochlorothiazide and 75 mg of triamterene (equivalent to Maxzide)
  • Triamterene-HCTZ 25/37.5 mg -- containing 25 mg of hydrochlorothiazide and 37.5 mg of triamterene (equivalent to Maxzide-25).
     
Triamterene-HCTZ capsules are available in the following strengths:
 
  • Triamterene-HCTZ 25/37.5 mg -- containing 25 mg of hydrochlorothiazide and 37.5 mg of triamterene (equivalent to Dyazide)
  • Triamterene-HCTZ 50/75 mg -- containing 50 mg of hydrochlorothiazide and 75 mg of triamterene (equivalent to neither Dyazide nor Maxzide).
     

Generic Triamterene-HCTZ

Currently, both brand-name and generic triamterene-HCTZ capsules and tablets are available for sale (see Generic Dyazide or Generic Maxzide).
