Ranitadine

If you have certain conditions related to the stomach, esophagus, or intestines, a healthcare provider may prescribe ranitidine hydrochloride (Zantac®). This medication is available in both a prescription and non-prescription form. Prescription ranitidine is approved to treat ulcers, GERD, erosive esophagitis, and other conditions. The non-prescription form is used for treating heartburn, acid indigestion, and a sour stomach. Possible side effects include headaches, diarrhea, and constipation.
