Pankreatitis

Were you looking for information about Pancreatitis? Pankreatitis is a common misspelling of pancreatitis.

When the pancreas becomes inflamed, it can result in a condition known as pancreatitis. This condition occurs when certain enzymes that normally do not become active until they reach the small intestine become active in the pancreas, "digesting" the pancreas itself. Although there are several causes of pancreatitis, the most common ones include gallstones and alcoholism. Symptoms of this condition include a swollen and tender abdomen (stomach), pain in the upper abdomen, vomiting, and fever.
