Who Should Not Take Orally Disintegrating Metoclopramide?

People who should avoid orally disintegrating metoclopramide include those who:
 
  • Are allergic to Metozolv ODT, metoclopramide, or any of the inactive components used to make the medication. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients.
     
  • Have gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation, a gastrointestinal blockage, or any other condition in which an increase in the activity of the digestive tract might be dangerous.
     
  • Have epilepsy or seizures.
     
  • Take medications that increase the risk of extrapyramidal symptoms, such as most antipsychotic medications.
