Dosing Information

There is only one standard dose of MoviPrep. However, the dosing instructions your healthcare provider recommends may vary, depending on whether you take all of the medication the night before your colonoscopy or if you are going to split the dose between the night before and the morning of the procedure.
As is always the case, do not adjust your dose unless your healthcare provider specifically tells you to do so.
(Click MoviPrep Dosage for more information.)

Side Effects of MoviPrep

Just like any medicine, MoviPrep can cause side effects. However, not everyone who uses the drug will experience problems. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well.
If reactions do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider. Serious side effects are less common.
Common side effects of MoviPrep may include but are not limited to:
  • Abdominal distention (swelling of the stomach)
  • Anal irritation
  • Thirst
  • Nausea
  • Abdominal pain (stomach pain).
(Click MoviPrep Side Effects to learn more, including potentially serious side effects that you should report immediately to your healthcare provider.)

Drug Interactions

MoviPrep is likely to interact with other medications, including oral medications taken within one hour of beginning treatment (see MoviPrep Drug Interactions).
