Were you looking for information about MoviPrep? Movieprep is a common misspelling of MoviPrep.
Available by prescription only, MoviPrep® (polyethylene glycol electrolyte solution) is a type of laxative used to empty the bowels before a colonoscopy. This medicine works by drawing water into the colon, which softens the stool and causes watery bowel movements.
MoviPrep is available as a powder, which is dissolved in water. It can either be taken the night before a colonoscopy or split up between the night before and the morning of the procedure. You may not be able to safely use this laxative if you have certain medical issues, such as an electrolyte imbalance or a bowel obstruction.
(Click MoviPrep for more information about how this laxative works and when and how to take it, as well as some general safety precautions to be aware of before beginning treatment. You can also click any of the links in the box to the right for specific information.)
