Were you looking for information about MoviPrep? Moveprep is a common misspelling of MoviPrep.
Before you have a colonoscopy, your healthcare provider may prescribe MoviPrep® (polyethylene glycol electrolyte solution). This laxative helps empty the bowels so that a healthcare provider can clearly see any potential problems within the colon, such as ulcers or polyps.
MoviPrep works by drawing water into the colon, which softens the stool and causes watery bowel movements. It comes as a powder that is dissolved in water. It can either be taken the night before a colonoscopy or split up between the night before and the morning of the procedure. Possible side effects include nausea, thirst, and anal irritation.
(Click MoviPrep for more information about how this laxative works, as well as information on what to discuss with your healthcare provider before beginning treatment. You can also click any of the links in the box to the right for specific information.)
