Misoprostol Side Effects
Clinical research has shown that some of the most commonly reported side effects of misoprostol include headaches, indigestion, and abdominal pain. Fortunately, most people tolerate this medicine well, and reactions to the drug tend to be minor. However, if you experience persistent diarrhea or decreased urination, tell your healthcare provider right away.
Just like any medicine, misoprostol (Cytotec®) can cause side effects. However, not everyone who takes the drug will have problems. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider.
(This article covers many, but not all, of the possible side effects with misoprostol. Your healthcare provider can discuss a more complete list with you.)
