The powder can be mixed with any cold, hot, or room-temperature beverage, such as water, juice, coffee, or tea.
The standard adult dosage for treating occasional constipation is 17 grams (about one heaping tablespoon) of powder dissolved in four to eight ounces of liquid and swallowed once a day. MiraLAX typically causes a bowel movement within one to three days after starting the laxative.
