You will have a scar on your abdomen after this surgery. Some people develop scars that are raised up, and thicker than normal scars. These are called "keloids," and they can be tender or painful for a long time after the surgery.
If you are worried about this, please talk to your doctor. Remember that how a scar looks has nothing to do with how well the surgery went. Also, be sure to tell your doctor if you've ever had an abnormal scar in the past.
