As a patient, and as a potential liver donor, you have certain rights.
First, you have the right to know all of the information about the liver donor evaluation process and
adult living donor liver transplant surgery before deciding whether or not to continue. If you have any questions or concerns at any point, please talk to your healthcare provider.
Second, it is entirely your decision to participate in the medical evaluation and/or the transplant surgery. No other person can make this decision for you, and you should not feel pressured by any feelings of guilt or by other people.
Third, you can change your mind at any time, and your reasons for this decision will be kept private. Other people will only be told that you are unable to donate.
