Informed Consent Process for Liver Donation

The informed consent process for
liver donation (your decision to continue with the procedure) is completely voluntary. You should make the decision that is best for you and not feel pressured by friends, family members, the person needing a liver transplant, or your healthcare providers.

If you do decide to be evaluated as a possible liver donor, please know that you can change your mind at any time. Your reasons for not continuing will be kept confidential and will not affect the quality of medical care the potential recipient receives. Your healthcare team knows that this is a very important decision, and they will support you in whatever you decide.
