We've talked about some of the things that can happen to you after liver donation surgery. Now let's talk a bit about a couple things that can affect the recipient's life.
The first is transplant rejection. This is the possibility that the recipient's body may attack the new liver. To help prevent or minimize transplant rejection, the recipient will probably have to be on medications from now on. Though taking medications every day may be a new experience, most people quickly adjust to this new part of their life.
