Pills With HalfLytely

HalfLytely® and Bisacodyl (polyethylene glycol electrolyte solution and bisacodyl) is a prescription laxative used to empty the bowels before a colonoscopy. This product works by drawing water into the colon, softening the stool, and causing frequent bowel movements.

Each HalfLytely and Bisacodyl kit comes with one bisacodyl pill and a jug of HalfLytely powder (to be dissolved in water before use). Normally, the bisacodyl tablet is taken first, and the HalfLytely solution is started after the first bowel movement, or six hours later (whichever comes first). After your bowel movement (or six hours have passed), drink the entire two liters of HalfLytely by consuming eight ounces (240 mL) of the mixed solution every 10 minutes.
