HalfLytely Braintree

People who have an upcoming colonoscopy may be prescribed HalfLytely® and Bisacodyl (polyethylene glycol electrolyte solution and bisacodyl) before their procedure. This prescription laxative is typically taken the day before a colonoscopy and empties the bowels so a healthcare provider can look for possible problems within the colon.

HalfLytely and Bisacodyl is made by Braintree Laboratories, Inc. This bowel-prep kit contains one bisacodyl tablet and a jug of HalfLytely powder (to be dissolved in water before use). Normally, the bisacodyl tablet is taken first, and the HalfLytely solution is started after the first bowel movement, or six hours later (whichever comes first). This product was named "HalfLytely" because you will need to drink only two liters of the solution instead of the usual three to four liters for other bowel-prep products.
