HalfLytely® and Bisacodyl (polyethylene glycol electrolyte solution and bisacodyl) is a type of laxative available by prescription only. It is approved for use prior to having a colonoscopy and works to empty the bowels by causing frequent, watery bowel movements.
 
The HalfLytely and Bisacodyl kit comes with one bisacodyl tablet and a jug of HalfLytely powder (to be dissolved in water before use). Normally, the bisacodyl tablet is taken first, and the HalfLytely solution is started after the first bowel movement, or six hours later (whichever comes first).
