What Are the Side Effects of GoLYTELY?

As with any medication, side effects may occur while taking GoLYTELY® (polyethylene glycol electrolyte solution). What are the most common side effects of GoLYTELY? The most frequently reported reactions, occurring in up to 50 percent of people, include:
 
  • Nausea
  • A feeling of abdominal (stomach) fullness
  • Stomach bloating.
     
Other common side effects may include:
 
  • Stomach cramping
  • Vomiting
  • Anal irritation.
     
Many people are able to tolerate GoLYTELY without any problems, however, and if problems do occur, they tend to go away fairly quickly.
