GoLYTELY Laxative

As a prescription laxative, GoLYTELY® (polyethylene glycol electrolyte solution) is often used to empty the bowels before a colonoscopy or other gastrointestinal exam.
 
This product comes in the following strengths and forms:
 
  • GoLYTELY packets, which contain 227.1 grams of polyethylene glycol 3350 and electrolytes for oral solution
  • GoLYTELY disposable jug, which contains 236 grams of polyethylene glycol 3350 and electrolytes for oral solution
  • GoLYTELY disposable jug with pineapple flavor, which contains 236 grams of polyethylene glycol 3350, electrolytes for oral solution, and a flavor packet.
     
GoLYTELY is approved for use in adults only and is generally well tolerated. Vomiting, stomach cramps, and bloating are some of the most commonly reported side effects.
