Diverticules
Were you looking for information about Diverticulosis? Diverticules is a common misspelling of diverticulosis.
Diverticulosis is a type of condition in which small sacs (diverticula) form in the colon. Although the exact cause of the condition is not known at this time, it is believed to be linked to a low-fiber diet (which can cause constipation). Because constipation makes the muscles strain to move stool that is too hard, it causes increased pressure in the colon. This excess pressure might cause the weak spots in the colon to bulge out and become diverticula.
