Divirticulitis
Were you looking for information about Diverticulitis? Divirticulitis is a common misspelling of diverticulitis.
A low-fiber diet may be linked to a health condition known as diverticulitis. This condition occurs when small, abnormal pouches (diverticula) that form in the colon become inflamed. Although the exact cause of diverticulitis is not known, many healthcare providers believe that a low-fiber diet (which leads to constipation) can cause exerted pressure on the colon, possibly forming these diverticula. It is also believed that the infections occur when stool or bacteria are caught in the diverticula.
