polyethylene glycol electrolyte solution) is used to cleanse the bowels the night before certain gastrointestinal procedures. It contains a laxative, electrolytes (such as potassium and sodium) to replace those lost in the watery stool, and flavor packets.
The flavor packets that come with colyte are available in the following varieties:
- Orange
- Citrus-berry
- Lemon-lime
- Cherry
- Pineapple.
Of course, you don't have to add a flavor packet if you don't want to. They are simply provided to improve the taste of the solution. If you do add flavor to colyte, use only one of the packets and throw away the rest.
