Bleeding From a Colonoscopy Test
Bleeding from a colonoscopy is uncommon. Most often, if bleeding occurs, it happens when another procedure, such as taking a biopsy or removing a polyp, is also performed. In most cases, this bleeding is minor. In rare cases, the bleeding is more serious and may require a blood transfusion or another endoscopic procedure. In extremely rare cases, surgery may be required.
